PSP UMD drive making clicking noise and not reading
I bought a 2nd mitt PSP 3004 not too long agone. My son was playing with it on Friday and he says it merely started making the noise when he was changing the UMD disc.
As soon as it starts reading the disc then information technology starts clicking and whirring. No UMD drive is picked up on the PSP game menu.
Suggestions?

I read some similar reports online. It seems that in almost cases it is caused past the UMD itself. The plastic of the casing is pressing confronting the disc inside. This is not always the case just hopefully in yours it is. Accept to tried a few other games. Y'all can become replacement UMD cases for cheap online.
Otherwise it might be the UMD bulldoze itself in which case I don't think there's much you can do as well having it repaired.

Got 2 UMD games and it does the same with both. If you put it to your ear and listen it sounds similar it's trying to read only tin can't - i've got a funny feeling the laser or the motor has gone
Everyone know how much it costs to replace a UMD drive? Does @maestro_za even do psp repairs?

found these...
outset u want to see if your laser is working, i establish out a couple days ago that if u open the umd tray very fast later putting a umd in for a couple seccond u tin can see a carmine lite coming out of your laser. if u dont see this low-cal after sever attempts then u probobly have a expressionless light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation
if the laser is working u want to check that the lasers drive motor is working, place a umd in the tray and shut. if u hear the laser moving back and quaternary than it works, if it doesnt make any noise than the motor is gone {pm me for a replacement}

did y'all try other UMDs? if the clicking audio persists, it means y'all might have to go a new lens installed.
